Food Love Earns Prestigious Honor from Oat Milk Giant Oatly

In October 2020, Food Love by Might Be Vegan received the “Je Ne Sais Quoi of the Month” award from 1990s-born Swedish oat milk producer Oatly.

According to its website, Oatly’s “Je Ne Sais Quoi of the Month is a $1000 grant that celebrates amazing people everywhere doing amazing things in so many amazingly different ways.”

Other award winners include a group of activist grannies from Helsinki, a pair of beekeepers, and two women who have a recycling system for organic menstrual care products.

Food Love received this honor just six months after the program’s launch on the heels of much media attention, including segments on KTLA, ABC Portland, CW Sacramento, Fox DC, Fox Philadelphia, and others.

“Food Love by Might Be Vegan is a national, direct-to-door hunger relief effort providing families in need with nutritious, plant-based food at no cost to them, to strengthen health outcomes and work towards greater food justice in the U.S. The program has a strong focus on BIPOC and other historically marginalized communities.”

Oatly filed for IPO in February 2021 and is scheduled to arrive in early May 2021.
